New Support Group for Parents Launched
Living Keys, a grassroots organisation based in Peterborough dedicated to supporting and empowering women affected by abuse, has launched a new monthly Parent Support Group to help parents whose grown-up children are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse.
The group aims to provide a safe, understanding space where parents can share their experiences, gain emotional support and learn ways to navigate the challenges of supporting a loved one through abuse and recovery.
Sessions will be held on the last Wednesday of every month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, offering a drop-in format with no need to book. Attendance is completely free.
“We know that parents often carry a deep sense of worry, pain and helplessness when their adult children are caught in an abusive relationship,” says Linda Huskisson, Founder and CEO of Living Keys. “This group was created to give them a space where they can speak openly, feel supported, and connect with others who truly understand what they’re going through. Healing doesn’t just belong to survivors; it extends to their families, too.”
The new initiative expands Living Keys’ mission to empower women and families affected by abuse through free courses, workshops and community spaces designed to help people rebuild confidence and connection in a safe and supportive environment.
