Living Keys Awarded Prestigious King’s Award

Living Keys has been honoured with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS), the highest award given to UK volunteer groups and the equivalent of an MBE.

Living Keys is one of 231 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the 2025 award, announced today to mark His Majesty The King’s Birthday. The accolade recognises the charity’s significant impact across the region and the essential role its volunteers play in empowering women affected by domestic abuse.

Founder Linda Huskisson said: “We are truly grateful to be recognised for the work that we do supporting women who have been through domestic abuse and violence. It’s a recognition of the input and dedication of the volunteers who give their time and energy to make a difference to our clients and our beneficiaries.”

Since 2021, Living Keys has supported more than 600 women through free courses, workshops, and drop-in services. Much of the charity’s work is shaped and led by volunteers, many of whom draw on their own lived experience to support others on their recovery journey.

In the months ahead, Living Keys will receive an official certificate signed by His Majesty The King, along with an exclusive commemorative crystal. Representatives of the charity will also be invited to a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
