Our story

Many years ago, Linda, Living Keys Founder, experienced domestic violence and abuse in her first marriage. Her full story is written in a book form called “Cheating Death, Living Life, Linda’s Story” by Ralph Turner. Since her story was written, she has attended and spoken in conferences, Churches and Seminars on the trauma domestic abuse leaves with those who have experienced it. It isn’t easy to leave, and when we do finally leave, there is a whole new nightmare, of further abuse from the abuser, accusations, questioning our ability to be a mother, sometimes, children are removed and placed into foster care, denial of the abuser being abusive, and accusations of the victim being the abuser, and the list goes on and on. Domestic Abuse is on the rise, 3 Women are killed each week from their partner or ex partner, in the UK. Living Keys is only 1 of many agencies that really want to make a difference to those affected by the abuse. We became a Registered Charity on 22nd June 2021 and we continue to strive in bringing awareness, bringing change, bringing hope and bringing love to those who come through our doors.

Linda has made great relationships with IDVA; (independant domestic violence advisory), Women’s Aid, (locally and in Lincolnshire); GP’s, Mental Health Workers, Rape Crisis, local housing associations, City Council, Peterborough Volunteer services, Social Services and more.

Linda has been out of the abusive relationship for 38 years. She worked as a support worker for many years and decided during Covid to leave the work she was doing and to concentrate on women and children who have experienced Domestic Abuse/violence.

Linda went into trainng and now facilitates various courses to help Women and support women who have been through the trauma of domestic abuse.

Linda and her team are very passionate in making a difference in the lives of others.

Living Keys were pleased to get office space last year, and now not only runs courses, but also has a drop in service, provides events to bring communities of women together, and is very passionate to make a difference in the lives of others. “So thrilled we have finally got office space and can complete courses, drop in services and more face to face and it is a safe place to meet. It’s aim is to bring a community of women together, supporting one another and making a difference in our communities it’s a great place to have a hub for women to attend and get support needed.(linda huskisson)

What was once a tragedy, is now Linda’s testimony of living an abuse free life.
