Living Keys celebrates King’s Award at Ceremony

Living Keys has been presented with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service – the highest award given to UK volunteer groups and the equivalent of an MBE.

The award was presented by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Mrs Julie Spence OBE CStJ QPM, at KingsGate Community Church where she met Founder Linda Huskisson, volunteers and invited guests.

Her visit also offered the chance to learn more about Living Key’s significant impact across the region and the essential role the charity plays in supporting and empowering women affected by domestic violence and abuse.

Founder Linda Huskisson said: “We are truly grateful to be recognised for the work that we do supporting women who have been through domestic abuse and violence. It’s a recognition of the input and dedication of the volunteers who give their time and energy to make a difference to our clients and our beneficiaries.”

Since 2021, Living Keys has supported more than 600 women through free courses, workshops, and drop-in services. Much of the charity’s work is shaped and led by volunteers, many of whom draw on their own lived experience to support others on their recovery journey.
